FINALLY, nearly 18 months after initial agreement from The Phone
Co-op, they have formally completed a number of accounting manoeuvres
which pave the way to transferring all 3-C customers to The Phone
Co-op and
formally winding up Calder Connect Co-operative (3-C) Ltd, without
assets, liabilities or trade. We have taken extensive advice, including from an expert in insolvency for
co-ops, and our accountants are now talking us through the final
stages.
All future requests for support and new connections should be made to The Phone Coop
All connections, including wireless and Ethernet over mains, and all
members' email and web space will continue to operate as normal for
the at least the next twelve months.
A huge 'Thank You' to all of you for supporting us over the years.
3-C emerged from the struggle to bring broadband to our valley.
Although mistakes were made and ultimately we were let down by people
we thought we could trust, we created a co-operative of members and
volunteer supporters who worked long and hard to provide the best
broadband service we could. Members have also gained immense
experience which will now be used in fighting for Next Generation
broadband in the Calder Valley.
Calder Valley Our Net (Interim name) is exploring the feasibility of a
community-owned Next Generation Access network offering superfast
broadband, TV, telephone and other services. Urban areas are already
starting to benefit from such technologies and we want to make sure the Calder Valley doesn't get left behind yet again. More info
